How editorial decisions and corrections work
Kaden Coziar is responsible for everything published on Deal Field Guide. Facts are checked against provider sources, fees and eligibility screens are rechecked every month, confirmed errors are corrected in public, and referral fees never affect fit or order.

One named editor is responsible
Kaden Coziar, publisher and editor, is responsible for the content on behalf of Kozi Publishing LLC. He approves every page before it is published and every substantive change after that. More about him is on the about page.
Tools help draft; a person reviews
We use AI writing and coding tools to help draft and build pages. Kaden reviews every page before it is published, and facts are checked against the cited sources, never taken from a tool's output.
Volatile facts are rechecked on a schedule
- Pricing, fees and eligibility screens: every month, and whenever we spot a change.
- Comparisons and provider descriptions: every three months.
- Referral program terms: before any referral link is switched on, and whenever a program announces a change.
A recheck that finds no change moves the check date forward. A recheck that finds a change updates the page, and if a published fact was wrong, the correction is logged below.
Dates mean a real check happened
- Last reviewed
- The date someone actually checked the page's facts against their sources. A page is never re-dated without a real check.
- Checked
- Beside a fact, the date we last read the source it comes from.
- Sitemap date
- Changes only when a page changes in substance, not when the site is rebuilt.
Referral fees stay out of recommendations
- Providers are listed alphabetically.
- Fit uses only published evidence. Whether a provider pays us is not an input.
- Providers that fit but pay nothing, such as FE International, stay visible.
- A referral link carries a disclosure beside the button, and a provider is shown as an active partner only once its agreement and link are live.
How referral fees work, and our current status with each provider, is on the affiliate disclosure.
Every claim says where it comes from
Field Notes say whether they come from operator experience or from research. Provider facts carry their source and check date. Calculations state their assumptions and are labeled as scenarios. The methodology sets out the full method.
What triggers an update
- A provider changes a fee, screen, service or program.
- A reader reports an error that we confirm.
- A scheduled recheck finds a difference.
- A source moves or disappears, so a fact can no longer be traced.
Corrections are logged in public
Report an error through the contact form. We recheck the source, and if the error is confirmed we fix it, update the check date and add an entry here with the date, the page, what changed and why. Typo fixes are not logged.
