Who makes Deal Field Guide

Kozi Publishing LLC, based in Orem, Utah, publishes Deal Field Guide and is responsible for everything on it. The company earns money from referral fees, described below, and from nothing else on this site.

That scope is the rule for the whole site. Where a note comes from running a type of business, it is labeled operator experience. Where it comes from provider documentation or research, it says so instead.

• Compares marketplaces and brokers on their published facts, each with the date we checked it.
• Calculates fees from published schedules, and says plainly when a fee cannot be calculated.
• Explains what owning each business model involves, in the Field Notes on the homepage.
• Sets out what to check before you list a business, unlock a listing or buy.

• Broker deals or represent buyers or sellers.
• Find deals for readers or introduce buyers to sellers.
• Review individual deals, run due diligence or value businesses.
• Take sales calls or give legal, tax or financial advice.

Marketplaces and brokers handle listing, buyer screening, negotiation and the transaction itself.

Some providers pay publishers a referral fee when a reader uses their link and completes a qualifying action, such as selling a business. You pay nothing extra. Today no provider pays us: none of our referral links is active.

Referral fees never decide which providers appear, their order, or whether one fits. The affiliate disclosure has the detail, and the editorial policy explains how that separation is kept.

We have not bought or sold a business through the providers we compare, so their facts come from their own published pages and terms. Those facts are only as current as their check dates, and we say when one is unconfirmed or unknown. The methodology explains how facts are checked.
